LAPTOP COMPUTERS FOR SALE

SCHOOL DISTRICT OF BLACK RIVER FALLS We will soon be completing our third year at the high school of issuing a laptop computer to all of our students. We have the opportunity to lease new laptops at a favorable rate this summer, so we will be acquiring new laptops for our students next school year. Because we feel the current laptops continue to have value, we are offering them to the public for purchase. The School District of Black River Falls is selling used HP Folio 9470m laptops for $175 ea. Laptops will be sold as‐is until supplies last. Monthly reading incentives take students to public library

This slideshow requires JavaScript. As part of our monthly reading incentives, students were asked to read 350 minutes in the month of March. From all those students, we selected 2 students randomly to be “Student Readers” at the public library during their Friday Story Hour. Grady Meek, 2nd grader, and Asuka Cusick, 3rd grader, were our lucky students! Each story hour has a theme. This Friday’s happened to be REPTILES! There was a visit from some real-life reptiles, including a snake, lizard and turtle! The fabulous Rhonda Groth at the public library led the story hour students through some additional learning, songs and finger plays. Our students were honored to take on this leadership role. They practiced reading their selected books related to reptiles many times, so as to put their best foot forward in reading for our future...

Staff honored at 2016 spring banquet

Staff gathered April 27 to celebrate the careers of six school district staff members planning to retire at the end of the 2015-16 school year and to recognize other staff members for their years of service. This slideshow requires JavaScript. Retirees Lee Amborn Lee returned to his hometown to teach here for 14 years following his “retirement” after 27 years in the military. He has earned degrees from UW-La Crosse, the University of Arkansas and Naval War College. Lee is a member of Wisconsin Art Education Association and the middle school art club. Robert Brown Bob attended both Cashton and Sparta schools. He has been employed as a custodian since April 2008. From 1969 to 2006, he worked at Burnstad’s; for 30 of those years he was a meat cutter. He also worked at Elco Janitorial Services from 2006...
