High School Store Donates to PTO
On March 12, the Black River Falls Parent Teacher Organization held the Elementary Winter Carnival at Black River Falls High School. Children and their families were able to play games, win prizes, and enjoy an evening out. The BRFHS School Store managers hosted concessions that evening. All proceeds were donated to the PTO. This year’s donation reached $250.
Throughout the year, the School Store hosts concessions by a variety of extra-curricular clubs and athletic groups. More than ten groups worked events at BRF High School. This year alone, the school store raised $500 for FCCLA, $700 for Boys’ Track, $500 for Girls’ Track, $750 for Ski/Snowboard Club, and many more. Over $9,000 was raised and donated to support the activities to benefit the high school.
“The School Store is extremely important to BRFHS and is very much appreciated; it helps raise so much money for activities or sports that may otherwise not have enough money to continue. It has been a great experience being a school store manager and seeing where all the profits go,” said senior Hannah Shankey.
In addition to club donations, the store will also be awarding two $500 scholarships to two senior students that have been involved in managing the store.
