Third Street Shatters February’s Reading Goal

Third Street Shatters February’s Reading Goal

In the month of February, we had some great winter-related reading incentives planned at Third Street. However, with the Wisconsin weather throwing us a curveball, we were flexible and still had some great celebrations around READING!

We have had several students reach their 350 minute goal for February! These students were entered in a drawing to win a free book. 25 books given away in all!

Many classrooms met the 5,000 minute goal and earned a hot chocolate party: Mrs. Tande, Mr. Dahlke, Mrs. Jessie, Ms. Spindler, Ms. Stecker, Mrs. Bolger, Mrs. Hanson, Mrs. McCann, and Mrs. Repka. BRAVO!

Our building total for minutes was…73,349 minutes….far surpassing our 60,000 minute goal! Way to go, Third Street students!

With no snow, we were unable to do our February Reading Incentive of Winter Wonderland. Instead, we went with a “Fun in the Sun” plan yesterday and took advantage of the WARM temps and SUNSHINE! We had some fun equipment and organized games outside on the playground yesterday for about 30 min for each grade level.

We greatly appreciate the support of their wonderful teachers, parents and families! Keep up the great READING!
