ART DEPARTMENT GOALS

The Black River Falls Art Department will assist each student to achieve the following goals:

A. Aesthetics

1. Develop awareness and sensitivity to the beauty in our environment.

2. Art Criticism

1. Allow opportunities for the understanding and interpreting of art with a working vocabulary appropriate to the age level.

C. Art Heritage

1. Develop more knowledge and a better understanding of many cultural and historical artistic backgrounds.

2. Art Making

1. To assist the students in reaching their potential and develop pride and self worth through creating works of art.
2. Allow opportunities for creative self-expression in the process of the actual making of art objects.
3. Expose students to a wide variety of media, materials and techniques.
4. Develop a respect for art as an integral part of the school curriculum.
