American Education Week Poster Contest Winners

American Education Week is November 11 through 17. This special week highlights the importance of bringing together educators, parents, students, and communities in a unified effort to build great public schools.

Black River Falls elementary students designed posters with the theme “Great Public Schools: A Basic Right and Our Responsibility”.

Five designs were chosen as the local contest winners.

The following winners received a $25 check to be used towards a $50 savings bond courtesy of the Black River Falls Education Association:

Ari Rukavina, Kindergarten, Forrest Street Early Learning Center; Son of Marc and Jennifer Rukavina

Olivia Olson, First Grade, Forrest Street Early Learning Center; Daughter of Jill and Marty Olson

Mayla Engebretson, Second Grade, Third Street Elementary School; Daughter of Casey and Marcy Engebretson

Becca Hudson, Third Grade, Third Street Elementary School; Daughter of Darin and Kristi Hudson

Trey Emery, Fourth Grade, Gebhardt Elementary School; Brian and Kristen Emery

Zoe Dal Cerro, Fifth Grade, Gebhardt Elementary School; Daughter of Catie and Steve Dal Cerro

The posters will be displayed in Black River Falls area businesses for American Education Week.
