Greetings BRFHS Tiger Staff!
Here is next week’s update. It is now also available on the new and beautiful website (Thanks, Julie). As we approach July, things at school have finally slowed down for me and I am getting some time to plan, think, read and put together information and ideas for next school year. I have had the opportunity to discuss ideas with a number of staff who have been stopping in on occasion and I very much enjoy the fact that I have the time to exchange ideas, talk about plans and to just listen to great insights from our staff.
One thing that is becoming more and more clear to me is the need for all of us to think hard about just how we will change our processes in the classroom with the laptops in students’ hands. Some teachers are planning to go completely paperless, which is very much a direction I support. This takes some planning and training, but can really help with organization, homework completion, and with monitoring and intervention when you see a student falling behind. We will learn more about this in August, but it sure doesn’t hurt to explore over the next several weeks how you can do this in your classroom.
For those brave souls who would like to explore this idea, check these links out. This teacher does a fantastic job of explaining how to take your classroom paperless using Google Docs.

Please also take a look at the schedule for July and August in the update and pay close attention to the dates here and mark the ones that pertain to you on your calendar.
Also, just a reminder again, I still have a number of staff laptops in the safe. You can come in and pick yours up anytime so that you have it over the summer.
Continue to enjoy your summer and have a fun and safe Independence Day!
