Transportation
Information 2008-09
Please
remember to have your Transportation Contracts turned
into no later than August
27, 2008. Any contracts received after August
27, 2008 will not be processed until Friday,
September 5, 2008. Parents will be responsible for
transportation until the contracts have been processed.
This is for the safety of our students so that the
Transportation Department has adequate time to plan
routes and ensure that your child is on the correct bus.
A post card with transportation information will be
mailed the last week of August.
Each
bus will again be assigned an animal to assist your
child with boarding the correct bus and the drivers will
verify that the sticker on their name tag matches the
correct animal assigned to the bus.
Please
take a moment to review the rules stated within the
Transportation Handbook with your child in an effort
reduce student discipline issues on our buses.
Remember that if your child is suspended from the bus
for misbehavior, it is parent’s responsibility to
transport or it is considered an unexcused absence.
The
only major transportation change this year is in the
Mission/Sand Pillow area. This route will now be
run as a K-5th grade route ONLY. A
separate bus will service the middle school and high
school students. This will decrease your child’s
ride time significantly and help to improve discipline
issues.
If
you have any questions, please contact Jeff Walker at
284-2557.
Family
Access
Keeping up
with your student through Family Access:
Family
Access is an internet-based program that allows you to
keep track of your child’s lunch account balance,
attendance, and grades (4th grade and above). If
you haven’t gotten your password, stop in the FS
office, show your driver license or other official
identification and Kathy will give you your username and
password. You can locate the Family Access site by
going to www.brf.org,
and click on Family Access under the "parents"
tab. It’s a great tool for staying in touch with
school!
Website Provides Support
for New Math Materials
Black
River Falls elementary
schools will be using Math Expressions
materials from Houghton Mifflin to support the
teaching of math concepts for grades K-5.
Family and student resources and information can be
found at the following website: http://eduplace.com/math/mthexp/
Please don't hesitate to contact your child's teachers
if you have questions or comments!
