Paul S Rykken  BRFHS

SAPARE AUDE

Welcome to the rolling hills and state forest of Jackson County Wisconsin.  Black River Falls is an old river town located midway between Madison and St. Paul. My name is Paul Rykken and I am in my 30th year of teaching high school history.  BRFHS is a public school with approximately 600 students.  Prior to coming to BRFHS in 1990, I taught in North Dakota and Minnesota.  Thanks for the visit and contact me if you have any questions related to this site.

"Everyone has a moment in history which belongs particularly to him.  It is the moment when his emotions achieve their most powerful sway over him, and afterward when you say to this person 'the world today' or 'life' or 'reality' he will assume that you mean this moment, even if it is fifty years past.  The world through his unleashed emotions, imprinted itself upon him, and he carries the stamp of that passing moment forever."
