Title VII works toward the goal of ensuring that programs that serve Native American and Alaskan Native children are of the highest quality and provide for not only the basic elementary and secondary educational needs, but also the unique educational and culturally related academic needs of these children.
Policies of note
An historic Memorandum of Understanding between the School District of Black River Falls and the Ho-Chunk Nation was signed on January 14, 2010. It is the first agreement of this type between the Nation and one of the districts Ho-Chunk students attend.

Presentation at the NIEA
On October 27th, 2011 a joint group from Black River Falls made a presentation at the National Indian Education Association National Conference in Albuquerque, NM. The presentation was titled Fragile Partnership. Michelle Cloud, Title VII PAC Chair, Lori Pettibone, Ho-Chunk Youth Services Director, Fawn Stumblingbear, Title VII PAC Treasurer and Shelly Severson, Title VII Administrator shared the story surrounding the creation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ho-Chunk Nation and the School District of Black River Falls.
Title VII Parent Advisory Council (PAC) Meetings are the first Thursday of the month at the Tribal Office Building. They run from 3:30 to 4:30. All parents and guardians of Native American Student are welcome to participate.

2010 is the second year the the School District of Black River Falls has contracted with Ho-Chunk Youth Services to provide tutors in each of the five school buildings. The goals of this agreement are geared toward improving the attendance rate of all Native American students, measuring improvement in the Grade Point Average for all secondary Native American students as well as documenting growth in the areas of Reading and Math.
