Students recently showcased their brilliance at the 2nd Annual CESA #4 STEAM Fair on May 1! This year, we were well represented by eight third graders and five fifth graders, joining a massive crowd of 312 students from across the region.

Competing in the K-5 morning slot, our students presented projects in the “Discover,” “Innovate,” and “Create” categories. Each project was evaluated by a panel of two to three judges.

Participants included: 3rd Grade—Bryce Nachreiner, Caleb Hurst, Amelia Woods, Etta Carriaga, Mhari Shepard, Edward Czarnik, Emilia Yellowbank, and Easton Smith. 5th Grade—Trinity Stoker, Aliyah Allen, Case Hansen, Colton Whitehead, and Cranston Weihl.

We are thrilled to announce that several of our students brought home awards in the Grades 2-3 division:

1st Place (Innovate Category): Etta Carriaga & Amelia Woods took the top spot with their project, “Feeder Boxes for Foxes,” which explored safe, automated ways for foxes to maintain food supplies without human interaction.

3rd Place (Create Category): Edward Czarnik & Mhari Shepard earned 3rd place for their project, “The Early Bird Gets the Fortress,” focusing on the engineering of a fortified birdhouse.

We are so proud of all our participants for their hard work and presentations at the Fair. It was a fantastic opportunity for our budding scientists and inventors to shine!
