The School District of Black River Falls has named veteran coach Tom Epps as the new head coach for the boys varsity basketball program. Coach Epps steps into the leadership role with decades of local experience helping young athletes grow both on and off the court. His primary vision for the future focuses on building strong skills at every age level and helping his players develop into reliable, hardworking leaders in the community.

Coach Epps has a deep connection to the Tiger athletic community and has spent his career guiding local students.

"I began coaching girls basketball in 1984 when I came to Black River Falls as a new teacher, and I coached at all levels for close to 20 years," Epps said.

After working closely with the girls' program, Coach Epps shifted his attention to boys basketball as a middle school coach and later as an assistant with high school boys head coach Jack Taylor.

This experience allowed him to help shape a shared vision of excellence and community pride that will carry the Tigers forward into the upcoming winter seasons and beyond.

"Knowing that basketball is just a small part of their lives, I hope that they learn that a strong work ethic can lead them to positive outcomes, in the basketball season and into their adult lives. At the end of the season, I would like the players to look back on it and know that they gave their maximum effort to make the Tiger community proud," said Epps.
