The annual middle school mini-course days were another huge success! With over 100 indoor and outdoor activities to choose from, no one was disappointed! There was everything from ice fishing, tubing, and ice skating to tie blanket making, lantern and earring creations, nail polishing, lefse making, workout activities, and so much more! We were lucky to have extremely beautiful weather, which put a damper on snowshoeing and cross-country skiing, but the students didn't seem to mind.
The annual middle school candy bar fundraiser from the beginning of the year helps to offset some of the cost of supplies for these two fun-filled days. As always, the middle school staff would like to thank parents, guardians, and everyone who helps support our two days of mini-course fun!

In a non-conference matchup, the BRF Tigers used full-court pressure to put up a season-high 89 points in an 89-57 win over Melrose-Mindoro. The Tiger's energetic defense forced 26 turnovers, and the Tiger's hot shooting led to 16 3-pointers.
Will Rahmlow scored the first points of his varsity career with a 3-pointer in the second half. Archer Grant led the team in rebounding with 11. Cecil Lopez scored a career-high 25 points, and Braylon Backaus scored a game-high 26 points.
Lyndon Greengrass and Zaedyn Roseth each scored 8 points, Cole Gearing scored 7 points, Toby Hovland and Mason Meimann scored 3 points, Nolan Boehm, Noah Larkin, and Will Sedelbauer scored 2 points.

In a high-stakes conference showdown, the BRF Tigers battled back from a two-goal deficit late in the third period to claim a dramatic 7-6 double-overtime victory over the West Salem Panthers.
It was a slow start for the Tigers, but they found their spark in the final minutes of regulation. Down 3-5 with under four minutes to play, Drew Apicella, Ryan Magnuson, and Calvin Lakowske each buried clutch goals to give BRF a 6-5 lead. However, the Panthers refused to go down quietly, netting the equalizer with just 39 seconds left to send the game into overtime.
The first overtime period saw both teams lock down defensively, keeping the scoreboard untouched. That set the stage for a tense second overtime, played 3-on-3 for four minutes. After securing possession, The Tigers pushed into the offensive zone, where Calvin Lakowske fired the game-winning goal, sealing the 7-6 victory.
Goals:
Calvin Lakowske – 4
Ryan Magnuson – 2
Drew Apicella – 1
Assists:
Drew Apicella – 5
Calvin Lakowske – 2
