Each classroom will have a donation bucket ready to collect all of those coins! The classroom that collects the most money earns a special surprise next week! Let the collecting begin and thank you for your support.

Hello Forrest Street Families!
With the weather frequently changing, please make sure your child has warm clothes for recess. I attached the Forrest Street Thermometer that is used as a guideline to help our students dress appropriately, for the outdoors, when at school. We want all students to be warm and enjoy playing outside! In addition, labeling your child's clothing is helpful if something becomes misplaced. Thank you!

The Book Fair is just days away! The Fair encourages students to read AND raises much-needed funds for our school. The easiest way for kids to pay is with an eWallet. Create one for your child so they can shop cash free and independently! Visit our school homepage to get started:

The Walk to School event will take place tomorrow morning! Please see the attached informational flyer for more details.
The Homecoming parade will begin at 2:00pm. First grade students will be bussed down town and will then walk to the parade route. Kindergarten students will remain at school to watch the parade on live stream while enjoying a popcorn treat.
If you have notified the office that you are picking up your child before the parade, you may pick up between 12:00-12:30. Please check in with the office and a staff member will bring your child to meet you.
If it is raining, first grade students will not be bussed to the parade and will watch the parade on live stream. If this happens, a notification will be sent out.
IMPORTANT SAFETY REMINDER: Do not pick up your child from the parade route. All first grade students riding the bus to the parade need to return to school for pick up or to ride their normal bus route home. Thank you for understanding that this procedure is put in place for the safety of our students.
Students can wear Tiger Pride gear tomorrow to celebrate our school spirit! It's going to be a fun and exciting day.

Beth Hansen spent 34 years teaching little learners, starting in kindergarten and then first grade at Hixton, Gebhardt, and Forrest Street. One unforgettable moment? A kitten jumped out of a student’s backpack, turning into the sweetest lesson on kindness and care.
Originally from Shell Lake, Beth earned her degrees from UW–River Falls and UW–La Crosse. In retirement, she looks forward to spending time with her new grandson, traveling, and enjoying picnic days with loved ones. Share a favorite memory of Beth in the comments! 👇 #tiGRRpride

☀️ Summer Reading Challenge Post #1: Read outside!
Summer reading helps children maintain their school-year reading gains--and potentially improve their skills. To help families out, we've got a weekly challenge this summer! Here's the first challenge to share with your kids:
Take your book into the sunshine and enjoy the fresh air. Take a pic of you reading outside, and post the photo in the comments to earn some recognition (and rumor has it...one randomly-chosen reader in the comments will get a small prize)! #brfreads

Today was the last day of school, and our Red Creek and Forrest Street teachers lined the bus loop to send students off with hugs, high-fives, and lots of well wishes. There were plenty of smiles—and even a few tears (mostly from the teachers!).
We’re wishing all our students and staff a fun, restful, and safe summer. ☀️
We can’t wait to see you again at Open House on August 21 from 2–6 PM!
