The School District of Black River Falls will be closed on Friday, January 12th due to the pending snow storm. While we typically try to wait until the snow is actually flying before closing, the timing of this storm is going to make that difficult. We will have to trust the meteorologists that are quite certain it will be unsafe travel during the late morning and early afternoon. This means that all after school activities are also cancelled. As a reminder, Monday, February 15th is also a scheduled day off of school. Enjoy the long weekend!

Hello Forrest Street School Families! Can you believe it's November already? We hope that you are enjoying some of this beautiful weather while it lasts! Please find our November Newsletter attached below. I think you'll find that we are really rocking and rolling now. Students are digging into new material and learning every day. As a school, one of our goals is attendance and you are key players in helping us achieve this goal successfully! This not only means having students at school each day but also having them here on time (by 7:50) and avoiding picking them up early whenever possible. A second area that is also highlighted in our newsletter is dressing for the weather. We have seen a great deal of students coming to school in shorts and without coats when it was 20 degrees. As a reminder, we go out for recess every day unless the temperature is below zero! Please make sure that you send your student with clothing to meet the needs of the changing seasons. If your family needs help securing winter gear due to financial hardship, please contact the office. We want to ensure that every child has the opportunity to play and be successful at school! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out. Hello Forrest Street School Families! I wanted to take a minute to highlight a fundraiser that our Tiger Community Organization (TCO) is running. The TCO is selling all sorts of fun Tiger Pride gear! There are sweatshirts, blankets, bags and more! As a reminder, the TCO pays for many activities for Forrest Street students and staff; such as seeing the Eau Claire Children's Theater Play "Junie B. Jones," supplying the bounce house at our field day, and providing dinner for staff during conferences. In terms of fundraisers, in the past, coupon books and Fannie Mae sales have happened. This is a great opportunity to help the schools and the TCO and show some Tiger Pride! Good evening Forrest Street School Families, I hope this email finds you doing well! This is just a friendly reminder that we are having our Student Success Conferences tomorrow. Therefore, there will be no school. Additionally, there will be no school on Friday, October 27th either. We are aiming for 100% partnership with YOU...with each of our families. We want you to be informed of your student's progress in school, to have the opportunity to celebrate their hard work and to ask any questions you may have. If you have any concerns, we are more than happy to work with you to address those concerns as well. If you'd like to speak with me directly, please just pop into the office. A slip confirming your conference time should have come home in your student's folder this past week. If you have any questions when your student's conference is, please contact the office at (715) 284-9406. We look forward to seeing you at conferences tomorrow! The SDBRF will be closed today, Monday, April 17th. I hope you enjoyed your teaser days of summer last week, it looks like winter wasn't done with us yet! The snow is heavy and wet, making the roads extremely dangerous. Please travel safely if you must go out. The Board of Education meeting will go on as scheduled this evening.
