Embers Rising Dance Studio is offering a fun new opportunity for young dancers! Join Mrs. Marianna for a Pom Pom Party where participants will dance with pom poms to some of their favorite music, learn proper pom dance arm positions, practice kicks, leaps, and jumps, and create a fun craft to take home.
The class will be held on Saturday, August 8, from 11:00 AM–12:30 PM at the Red Creek Elementary Gym and is open to ages 5–10 for just $10. Participants should dress for movement by wearing leggings or shorts, a t-shirt or leotard, and sneakers—just like they would for gym class. Check the comments for a link to register!

We are five weeks out from the first day of school! This week, we want to give a special shout-out to our youngest learners in Pre-K and Kindergarten.
Starting school is a big milestone, and building the habit of regular attendance right now sets the foundation for your child's entire educational journey. Did you know that missing just two days a month in kindergarten can make it harder to learn to read later on?
Here are a few gentle things you can do this month to prepare:
⏰ Gradually adjust bedtimes: Start moving bedtimes up by 10 minutes each week so the first morning isn't a shock to the system.
⏰ Talk it up: Keep conversations about school positive and exciting to ease any transition anxiety.
⏰ Map out appointments: Try to schedule routine check-ups during summer days or after school hours whenever possible.

We can’t wait to see those big smiles on day one! #tiGRRpride #attendancematters

We love seeing our students build confidence, master new skills, and bring joy into the classroom every day. Way to go, mathematicians! #tiGRRpride

At the School District of Black River Falls, we view our families as our greatest partners. As you start thinking about the upcoming school year, we want to talk about one of the biggest ingredients in your child’s success: regular attendance.
When students are here every day, they don't just stay caught up on schoolwork. They build deep friendships, grow their confidence, and feel a sense of belonging. We know life gets busy, and challenges happen. That’s why we’re here to support you every step of the way. Let’s work together to make this year amazing!
Our doors are always open. If you have questions or need support preparing for the year, please reach out to your child's school office! #tiGRRpride #attendancematters

Forrest Street will be holding a coin drive this week (Nov. 17-Nov. 21) to support Project Christmas! Our school wide goal is to raise $100! If you have some spare coins laying around the house, in the car, or wallet/purse please consider sending them to school!
Each classroom will have a donation bucket ready to collect all of those coins! The classroom that collects the most money earns a special surprise next week! Let the collecting begin and thank you for your support.
You can find more information about Project Christmas and the fun competition at Forrest Street linked below.

With the weather frequently changing, please make sure your child has warm clothes for recess. I attached the Forrest Street Thermometer that is used as a guideline to help our students dress appropriately, for the outdoors, when at school. We want all students to be warm and enjoy playing outside! In addition, labeling your child's clothing is helpful if something becomes misplaced. Thank you!
