This afternoon, students witnessed a powerful and emotional mock crash event in the Lunda Park parking lot, followed by impactful speakers in the theatre. The event was planned by Lily Olson, part of the FCCLA's high school chapter. Student actors included Katelyn Nosbisch, Cecil Lopez, Keanau Maphis, and Lily Olson. Local first responders from Black River Falls brought the scene to life with their involvement, making the experience all the more real. No weather concerns, but we will keep everyone informed. • Golf (Arcadia) – Time change confirmed: starts at 3:00 pm. • Baseball (Arcadia) – JV & Varsity double headers start at 4:30 pm. We want to keep everyone safe, so the School District of Black River Falls will be closed on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, due to potentially tricky travel conditions in the morning. This past weekend, 13 talented BRFHS musicians participated in the 75th Dorian Band Festival at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa! They spent hours in rehearsals on Sunday and Monday, enjoyed an incredible concert by the Luther College Concert Band and Jazz Orchestra, and took the stage themselves for a phenomenal performance on Monday evening! Our fourth-grade historians are at it again this year! Work has commenced on the Wisconsin History Fair! This year's crop of academics took their boards home and will spend the next month researching to become experts on their topic. Today, we gave Katelyn Nosbisch and Riley Hanrahan a send-off as they head to the WIAA State Wrestling Meet! Riley enters as the #2 seed at 138, facing #15 seed Sevanna Hoyer (41-13) from Brillion in the first round. Katelyn takes the mat as the #14 seed at 145, battling #3 seed Tiani Lemieux (10-2) from Sturgeon Bay in her opening match.
