The Marching Tigers have been busy practicing new music and routines for the upcoming marching season! Their first performance of 2025-2026 will be at the August 22 football game against Sparta!

The band also has an apparel store again this year! Show your Marching Tigers pride with a variety of items! Orders need to be placed by Wednesday, August 27.

A big welcome to Stina Jansen, a new special education teacher at the High School! She is excited to be part of a larger team of teachers and to service a more diverse student group. A surprising fact about her is that she holds a CDL for bus driving and has previously worked as a full-time bus driver. Please join us in welcoming Cheyenne Iverson to the School District of Black River Falls! Cheyenne will be teaching 5th grade at Red Creek Elementary, bringing four years of teaching experience with her. She says her favorite meals are anything her mom makes, especially chicken pot pie, and she loves iced lattes with caramel. What makes her day even brighter is spending time with her nephews! Jodi joins Black River Falls High School as a tech ed Instructor in her first year teaching the subject, though she brings 26 years of education experience, including many years teaching agriculture. She’s eager to get to know the families in BRF and become part of the community. Jodi’s hobbies include crocheting little animals, and she will enjoy exploring the area’s trails. Good afternoon, parents! Looking for a reliable and convenient before-school care option for your child?

We're excited to offer a program right here at Forrest Street for kids in 4K through 5th grade.

Here's what you need to know:

Drop-off starts at 6:30 AM

Kids will be walked to their morning activities at either Forrest Street or Red Creek at 7:30 AM.

The cost is just $12 per day.

Give your child a safe and fun start to their day, and give yourself peace of mind. We can't wait to see them!

✅ Have you registered your student for the 2025–26 school year yet? Registration is open for all schools!

Here are a few tips to make the process smoother:
⭐ Use a browser on a computer or on your phone's browser (not the mobile version)
⭐ Fill out the free/reduced meals application during registration
⭐ Don’t forget to complete the computer use agreement
⭐ Approve field trips now to save time later
⭐ Want us to celebrate your child’s activities? Give publication permissions in the student info section
⭐ MS/HS parents: Give consent for OTC meds like ibuprofen
⭐ HS parents: Parking is free—but we still need vehicle info for a permit

Balance: Negative lunch balances mean limited meal options for older students—thank you for keeping accounts current.

Starting this year, families will once again need to ensure their student has funds available in their lunch account—or send a packed lunch. 🍱 Beginning in August, families will receive automated calls if account balances are low.

You can deposit funds:

✔️ At any school with the secretary

✔️ Or at the District Office Keeping your account in good standing ensures your child has full access to healthy meals.

Be sure your child’s food service account has funds or plan to send a packed lunch.

While breakfast remains free, lunch will return to a paid program. Students will need to either: ✅ Qualify for free/reduced-price meals through the federal form ✅ Or have funds available in their food service account Lunch prices for 2025–26: 🍽️ Elementary: $3.20 🍽️ Middle School: $3.35 🍽️ High School: $3.45 We’ll be using direct certification to identify eligible families automatically, but please be sure to fill out the form if you are asked to do so in August. The good news? Universal Free Breakfast continues for the 2025–2026 school year!
