We are delighted to announce that the School Nutrition Association of Wisconsin presented Connie Seiber with the Food Service Director of the Year at the SNA-WI Annual Conference on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 ! 🎉🏆 Connie's motivation to strive for excellence is powerful. "It's about more than just meals; it's about building meaningful relationships with the kids and crafting a safe, welcoming environment they love to be in. This "break" from their daily studies provides a refreshing reset. We understand that a hungry student cannot learn, and in the nutrition department, we are passionate about educating on the importance of good nutrition and having fun while learning," said Seiber. Let's all congratulate Connie on this well-deserved recognition! 🎊 Her dedication and hard work in ensuring nutritious meals for the community have truly made a significant impact. We appreciate her efforts and respect her commitment. Here's to many more achievements ahead! 👏 #tigrrpride #InspiringExcellence

After 32 years of teaching (and with 24 of those years in Black River Falls), Lara Zillmer is retiring. Lara graduated from the BRFHS class of '87--once a tiger, always a tiger! While teaching, she taught seventh-grade science and ELA, was a high school interventionist, and advised multiple clubs. Thank you for everything you have done for our district! You will be greatly missed. 🍎

Hello families! I hope you are launching into a fantastic summer!  I wanted to share with all of you a significant shift in our four-year-old kindergarten programming.  We are excited to offer full-day four-year-old kindergarten, four days per week, beginning in the fall of 2024.  Programming will run the full school day on Mondays - Thursdays.  Friday will still be a day off for our 4K students.  While some of you haven’t had children at the 4K level for many years, we wanted to share this shift with everyone so that you can help us spread the word! This shift was just approved at the Board of Education meeting that was held on June 17th.  While enrolled 4K students and families have already received their section and classroom assignments for fall, Forrest Street has been reaching out this week with updated information. Our 4K team of teachers and staff are excited by this opportunity - we hope you are as well! We are happy to answer any questions that you may have. My contact information is as follows: melanie.floyd@brf.org Office: (715) 284-9406 ext. 4001 Cell: (715) 896-8165 Wishing you well, Melanie Floyd

Falls CC has some good things going this summer. Realize that we are always looking for interested runners and are working to improve our numbers. We run our middle and high school programs together. This summer, we initiated our G.R.I.T. Running Challenge—"Great Runners Initiate Training"—and it started this week. Cross country is a great sport for building general fitness and is an excellent way to prepare for other sports. We work hard, but we have fun as a team!    We also have the weight room available on M-W-F from 10:30 to 12:00, and this is open to both middle and high school runners. If you have any questions, contact Head Coach Steve Markee or Varsity Assistant Paul Rykken or middle school coaches Mike Shepard or Eli Youngthunder.  #tigrrpride

Passing/Skill Work: Ethan Young will work with quarterbacks, running backs, and receivers every Wednesday night at 6 p.m. This is an awesome opportunity to learn our route tree and essential skills! High school football players only. 7 on 7 at La Crosse Logan: June 23rd, 30th; July 14th, 21st. This will be a two-hand touch passing league vs. other schools. It's great competition and an opportunity to build team chemistry. These will be at 5 p.m. High school football players only. Commitment to Excellence Camp: This will be our team camp. 9th-12th grade will be July 8 through July 12. It's 8–10 a.m. Monday through Thursday, and Family Night starts at 7 p.m. on Friday. We will also have our youth camp on Tuesday, July 9, through Thursday, July 11, at 5:30 p.m. Equipment handout and first day of practice: Our equipment handout and the start of two-a-day practices will be on August 6 at 6 a.m. Tiger 222 fundraiser: This year, we will have a different fundraiser. Two weeks from now, community members can draw a "ticket" (football wood piece with a dollar value on the back of $1-$222) at Skyline Golf Course for people to financially support Tiger football. By committing to this drawing, you also get a free meal and raffle tickets for raffle baskets available at our "Bash Day" on August 17 at Skyline Golf Course. If you have questions, please reach out to Coach Yirko! That was a lot of information, but our players and coaching staff are committed to restoring the pride of a winning tradition in Tiger football. Let's get after it and go, Tigers!
