Welcome our newest educator, Jon Rosario, an 8th Grade English & Science Teacher at the middle school! With a passion for making school a place he would have wanted for himself growing up, he looks forward to being part of something bigger than himself. A fun fact about Jon is that he drives his car in manual. We're so glad to have him with us! #TiGRRpride #WelcomeToBRF

We want every student to eat well—while also managing food service responsibly. If a student’s account goes into a negative balance: 🍎 Elementary students will still receive a regular reimbursable meal 🥗 Middle and high school students will be offered garden bar We truly appreciate your help in monitoring your child’s food service account and helping us keep meals accessible to all. Want to know more? There's information about the changes on this page: https://www.brf.org/page/open-house

Balance: Negative lunch balances mean limited meal options for older students—thank you for keeping accounts current.

Starting this year, families will once again need to ensure their student has funds available in their lunch account—or send a packed lunch. 🍱 Beginning in August, families will receive automated calls if account balances are low.

You can deposit funds:

✔️ At any school with the secretary

✔️ Or at the District Office Keeping your account in good standing ensures your child has full access to healthy meals.

Families can apply for free or reduced lunch and community members can learn more about the Angel Fund. Find out more here: https://www.brf.org/o/sdbrf/page/nutrition-services

Be sure your child’s food service account has funds or plan to send a packed lunch.
While breakfast remains free, lunch will return to a paid program. Students will need to either: ✅ Qualify for free/reduced-price meals through the federal form ✅ Or have funds available in their food service account Lunch prices for 2025–26: 🍽️ Elementary: $3.20 🍽️ Middle School: $3.35 🍽️ High School: $3.45 We’ll be using direct certification to identify eligible families automatically, but please be sure to fill out the form if you are asked to do so in August. Want to know more? There's information about the changes on this page: https://www.brf.org/page/open-house

Lunches will now be charged to your account unless a student qualifies for free or reduced-price meals.
The good news? Universal Free Breakfast continues for the 2025–2026 school year! Every student in every building will receive a full, nutritious breakfast at no charge. 🍎🥛🥯 We’re committed to ensuring every student starts the day with the energy they need to learn and thrive. Breakfast: All students will continue to receive a full, nutritious breakfast every day—free of charge!
Important School Meal Update for 2025–2026: Beginning next school year, the School District of Black River Falls will no longer be part of the Community Eligibility Program (CEP), which previously allowed us to offer free lunch to all students. While this was a wonderful program, rising costs and uncertain federal funding make it fiscally unsustainable at this time. We’re sharing these updates now to help families plan ahead. Come back every day this week for more details--or refer to the district wrap-up email sent to all parents on June 3.

Update. School meals will no longer be free for all students in 2025–26—please read to stay informed.
🇺🇸 HAPPY 4TH OF JULY! What better way to celebrate America's birthday than by shouting out our amazing students who experienced democracy in action!

Big shout out to four brilliant students who represented Black River Falls High School at Badger Boys State this summer at UW-Eau Claire from June 8-14!

Let's all cheer for:
🌟 Roman Madvig and Anton Cassidy, sponsored by American Legion
🌟 Owen Zenz, supported by Lions Club
🌟 Maleki Lee, backed by Rotary Club

These Tigers learned about government, leadership, and civic responsibility while having a great time! Talk about the perfect way to prep for Independence Day!

Thank you to our incredible community sponsors for making this opportunity possible!
