For 22 years, Steven Humphrey safely transported students as a bus driver—and also served up lunches at Red Creek and the high school. With degrees in fish and wildlife biology and biblical studies, Steven has worn many hats, including teaching martial arts for over 50 years. One meaningful memory: a kind family invited him over for Christmas when the weather kept him from traveling. Steven will miss the early mornings, the extra trips, and the daily connections with students and staff. Help us wish him well as he continues teaching martial arts at Jim’s Gym! 👊 #tiGRRpride

Beth Hansen spent 34 years teaching little learners, starting in kindergarten and then first grade at Hixton, Gebhardt, and Forrest Street. One unforgettable moment? A kitten jumped out of a student’s backpack, turning into the sweetest lesson on kindness and care. Originally from Shell Lake, Beth earned her degrees from UW–River Falls and UW–La Crosse. Ken Deal, who spent 8 years at Red Creek Elementary, is known for his “speed cleaning” skills and joyful spirit. A favorite memory: every class singing to him on his birthday! After 29 years with the School District of BRF and over 40 years in the workforce, Jill Collins is retiring! She started as a bookkeeper in 1995 and has served as Director of Business Services since 2000. Along the way, she’s coached youth sports, served on community boards, and even worked as an EMT. Jill also played a key role in leading two major school referendums from concept to completion. In retirement, Jill plans to travel—Hawaii, Alaska, and the Mediterranean are already on the list—visit local wineries, and keep her accounting and golf skills sharp.
