It's Wisconsin School Board Week!

Way to go, Tiger Volleyball! Our team went undefeated at the Colby tournament last Saturday, taking down Abbotsford, Chequamegon, and Colby to keep their momentum rolling strong.

We also want to give a special shoutout to our incredible seniors celebrated during Senior Night! Thank you for the dedication, leadership, and heart you bring to our court every single day. You've set a fantastic foundation for this team, and we can't wait to see what you accomplish as the season continues.

Learning happens everywhere, but taking our students beyond the classroom walls makes history come alive in a whole new way.

Our recent field trip the The Highground gave students a chance to honor local Veterans in person while exploring historical monuments and events up close. Out-of-building experiences like this help our kids connect what they read in textbooks to real people and real stories right in our region. We are so grateful to the Veterans who spent time sharing their stories with our Tigers!

The final weekend of September was a busy weekend for the Marching Tigers! On Friday, they debuted their 2026 pregame show at the football game. Saturday took them to La Crosse, where they performed in the Maple Leaf Parade. Sunday was the Cranfest Parade in Warrens, where they placed 2nd in their division! Our Big Paw/Little Paw mentorship program is officially underway, and our first meeting was all about getting to know each other!

Bigs and Littles paired up to break the ice with some interview questions. They learned about each other's favorite breakfast foods, what makes them laugh, and their big goals for the school year. After playing a quick game of "This or That" to spot what they have in common, everyone head outside together to wrap up the time with some bonus recess!

Building connections across grade levels helps make our schools feel like one big family. We can't wait to see these friendships grow all year long.

Open mats start today! Whether you’re a returning wrestler ready to get back on the mat or you’ve never wrestled before and want to give the sport a try, come work on some moves, get some exercise, have fun, and see why wrestling is such an awesome sport.

The first open mat is today: Monday, October 5 from 6:30-8:00. It switches to the same time on Wednesdays starting on October 14 through the start of our season on November 16. #tiGRRpride

What a massive week for Tiger athletics! Our student-athletes poured everything into every contest. Here is the breakdown from the week:

⛳ Girls Golf
🧡 Finished 4th at Regionals. Jordyn King parred the famous island green on hole 14, and both King and Andrea Cogswell earned 2nd Team All-Conference for the season!

🏃 Cross Country
🧡 Farrah Laufenberg led high school girls at both Skyline and Osseo-Fairchild. Jordyn King tackled Skyline right after her golf round, and senior Grace Tande ran her final home course!
🧡 Aaron Thurow (11th) and Caleb Ellingson (17th) led the HS boys to 6th at Osseo.
🧡 Both MS Girls and MS Boys took 2nd place overall as a team at Osseo-Fairchild to cap off a fantastic season!

⚽ Boys Soccer
🧡 Battled hard at Nekoosa, highlighted by strong 2nd-half play and a great scoring opportunity by Miles Dagones.

🏈 Football
🧡 Secured a 36-6 win over Viroqua! Rushing touchdowns by Braylon Backaus and Rylie Dobson, plus an interception and sack by Chris Blazek.

🏐 Girls Volleyball
🧡 Senior Hayden Brown reached her 500th career dig on Senior Night against G-E-T!
🧡 Went 3-0 at the Colby Play Day (beating Abbotsford, Chequamegon, and Colby) to move to a 15-14 winning record!

Big recognition for an extra special educator at Red Creek!

Lori Spaude, one of our fabulous second-grade teachers, was selected by Co-op Credit Union (CCU) to receive an Outstanding Teacher Award. CCU stopped by her classroom in September to surprise her in front of her students and present the award.

Lori brings heart, patience, and energy to her classroom every day, and we're so proud to see her hard work recognized by our local community!

During our September 21st school board meeting, the Board recognized Jordan and Stephanie Nortman with a Board Commendation. Jordan and Stephanie have created and continue to facilitate a community group that is intended for parents of students with extra needs. The group meets at the Lunda Community Center and is meant to be an inclusive, judgment-free space for parents and caregivers. They aren't screening anyone, requiring a particular diagnosis, or deciding whose circumstances qualify as an "extra need." If you feel like you could benefit from connecting with other parents and caregivers who may be navigating relatable experiences, you're welcome.

While the District isn't involved in the group, we are happy to highlight when the activities are happening as a means to spread the word.

Jordan and Stephanie are fantastic supporters of public education in general, and specifically created this space to bring families together and build community. We are so appreciative of their generous spirit! #tiGRRpride

🎾 Girls Tennis
🧡 Fell short 3-4 to Sparta Monday, but Abby Meimann won her singles match in a tiebreaker!
🧡 Bounced back Thursday to beat Barron 6–1, led by Iris Zenz and Evelyn Vangen’s 6-1, 6-0 win at doubles.

⛳ Girls Golf
🧡 Took 2nd at the Coulee Conference Championship with Jordyn King placing 3rd (99).
🧡 Lexie Wood snagged a birdie on hole 2, and both King and Andrea Cogswell earned 2nd Team All-Conference!

🏃 Cross Country
🧡 Girls saw every runner hit a seasonal PR at Eleva-Strum! Farrah Laufenberg led BRF in 8th (23:50).
🧡 Boys took 3rd overall, top six runners all PR’d, and Lukas Cornelius, Caleb Ellingson, and Aaron Thurow finished top 10.

⚽ Boys Soccer
🧡 Battled hard in a 1-4 loss to Coulee Christian with solid defense from Adaline Goldsmith and huge kicks from Ricardo.

🏐 Girls Volleyball
🧡 Went 1-1 in Tuesday's double dual, beating Arcadia (3-1) behind Olivia Larkin's 35 kills and Tylan Brown's 21 digs.
