"It's about more than just meals; it's about building meaningful relationships with the kids and crafting a safe, welcoming environment they love to be in. This "break" from their daily studies provides a refreshing reset. We understand that a hungry student cannot learn, and in the nutrition department, we are passionate about educating on the importance of good nutrition and having fun while learning," said Seiber. After 32 years of teaching (and with 24 of those years in Black River Falls), Lara Zillmer is retiring. Lara graduated from the BRFHS class of '87--once a tiger, always a tiger! While teaching, she taught seventh-grade science and ELA, was a high school interventionist, and advised multiple clubs. Thank you for everything you have done for our district! You will be greatly missed. 🍎

Let's honor another one of our amazing retirees, Brian Stemper. Before becoming our middle school technology education teacher, Mr. Stemper taught chemistry, physics, and electronics for 13 years. He is also very involved in sports. He coached football (31 years), softball (15 years), and baseball (4 years). Thank you for your involvement in SkillsUSA and Robotics Club! Let's get our open gym numbers up! Volleyball hosts open gyms every Monday from 5-6 pm at the Fieldhouse. This is followed by the BRF volleyball league from 6:30-9 pm through July 22. This is a great way to get some court time and show coaches your skills. Open gyms are for all middle school and high school athletes! Let's go, girls! 💪

Hello families! I hope you are launching into a fantastic summer!  I wanted to share with all of you a significant shift in our four-year-old kindergarten programming.  We are excited to offer full-day four-year-old kindergarten, four days per week, beginning in the fall of 2024.  Programming will run the full school day on Mondays - Thursdays.  Friday will still be a day off for our 4K students.  While some of you haven’t had children at the 4K level for many years, we wanted to share this shift with everyone so that you can help us spread the word! This shift was just approved at the Board of Education meeting that was held on June 17th.  While enrolled 4K students and families have already received their section and classroom assignments for fall, Forrest Street has been reaching out this week with updated information. Our 4K team of teachers and staff are excited by this opportunity - we hope you are as well! We are happy to answer any questions that you may have.
