Congratulations to Athlete of the Month for girls golf, McKenzie Apicella! McKenzie has made an incredible impact on the girls golf team in her very first season. Competing in the 2-spot as a freshman, McKenzie showed remarkable composure and resilience, even in challenging moments. Coach Danielson shared, “Golfing in the 2-spot as a freshman is an accomplishment. It can be stressful and frustrating, but she kept her cool and fought through the tough times.” Congratulations, McKenzie, on an impressive start to your high school golf career!

We’re excited to recognize Owen Zenz as our Athlete of the Month for cross country! Coach Steve Markee had this to say about Owen: “Owen is a great leader and good friend to runners on his team. He has shown great leadership to our younger runners and is just a positive kid we love having in our program. He has dealt with illness and injuries over the past several seasons and still pushes himself as hard as he can. He did a lot of extra work in the weight room this past year to get stronger and help with injuries.” Owen’s commitment, resilience, and positive attitude are a huge asset to the team. We are thrilled to announce Ava Batista as our Athlete of the Month for cheerleading! 🌟 Coach Ashley Milnthorpe had this to say about Ava: “Ava really came out of her shell and stepped up as a leader and captain as the season progressed. Despite a rocky start to the year, she continued to work hard and be there for her team. She also choreographed the senior night halftime routine, and it was beautiful! We are so proud of her and the work she has put in over the last four years!” Ava's dedication, leadership, and creativity have greatly impacted the team. Her growth as a leader truly shines through. 🎉🔥 Northern Badger Wrestling Classic Highlights! 🔥🎉 We've got a big congratulations for some incredible athletes who competed at the Northern Badger Wrestling Classic in River Falls on December 27-28! 💥 In the girls division, our wrestlers were on fire! 🔥 Aralyn White Eagle – 2nd place 🥈 Ava Gilberg – 3rd place 🥉 Charlie Heath – 4th place 🏅 Annaliese Rave – 5th place 🏅 These young women put on an incredible display of talent, determination, and sportsmanship, making us so proud of their achievements. 🌟 Moving on to the boys, seniors Sullivan King (9th place) and Keanau Goldsmith (11th place) put in tremendous effort, showcasing their strength and skill on the mat! 💥 They battled hard, and we're so proud of their performances. We've got a massive shoutout for our outstanding wrestlers, Riley Hanrahan and Katelyn Nosbisch, for their exceptional performances at the Bi-State Classic wrestling tournament on December 27-28! 🌟 Riley Hanrahan (Sophomore) - Nationally ranked and a force to be reckoned with, Riley took FIRST PLACE in her weight class and was named Outstanding Wrestler in the girls' division! 🎖️ But that's not all—Riley also made history as Black River Falls' first-ever champion at this prestigious event! 🌟 Katelyn Nosbisch (Senior) - Katelyn also showed up BIG, earning an impressive third place in her weight class! Her hard work and determination were on full display. 🙌💪 These two incredible athletes continue to set the bar high for our wrestling program and school. We couldn't be more proud of their hard work, perseverance, and success on the mat! We've got more results coming up soon--both the boys and girls competed at Northern Badger last weekend, too!

The Tigers fought hard against a tough West Salem team Tuesday, December 17. West Salem took the lead against BRF in the opening few minutes and never looked back. BRF was able to compete through the first half and the beginning of the second, pulling within 14 points, but West Salem's 3-point shooting and offensive rebounding was too much for BRF to handle. 🌟 Standout Performances: Braylon Backaus led the team with 16 points. Cecil Lopez followed closely with 15 points. Zaedyn Roseth added 9 points to the board. Archer Grant and Nolan Boehm each had 4 points Will Sedelbauer finished with 2 points Shoutout to Mason Meimann, who scored his first varsity point at the free-throw line! The Tigers showed resilience and determination throughout the game.
